The Spey-O-Rama, the world championship of Spey casting, is hosted annually by the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club (GGACC) in San Francisco. Competitors and official results are maintained and posted here by Tom Keelin (tom@flyfishingresearch.net), judge and head score keeper. For questions, please contact Tom directly.

Spey-O-Rama 2024

The 2024 Spey-O-Rama, the world championship of spey casting, was held on April 20-21 at the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club in San Francisco. Weather conditions were excellent. Congratulations to these winners!
  • BC's Kara Knight won the women's title, both four-cast total and longest cast, with casts of 520 and 135 ft. respectively. Donna O'Sullivan placed second. Mika McHenry placed third.
  • BC's Tim Arsenault won the men's open title with a personal-best four-cast total of 717 ft. Scotland's James Chalmers placed second. Norwegian Glenn Jacobsen placed third. The title for longest cast was won by Scotland's Blaine Lyon with a cast of 189 ft.
  • Washington's Jeon Lee won the men's masters title with a four-cast total of 611 feet. Irishman Martin Kiley placed second and also won the title for longest cast. Argentina's Agustin Avellaneda placed thrid.
